Graphic #1: The Workings of the Straits

The graphic above depicts the workings of the Five Straits, a critical physiological component of the third kin denizens of the Switchboard. It illustrates the workings of the straits with regards to how they interact with each other, and the emergent functionality that allows the denizens of the Switchboard to act as they do.

Most interestingly however, it reveals how the Third Kin and their physiological design are very much like biological computers.

Killing the atom to build the Samsara canon as I saw fit had - expectedly - a number of far-reaching implications. None are so perfectly represented, arguably, than the document that is Switchboard Physiology, which describes in great detail how I rebuilt the anatomy and anatomical processes of the kin without using atoms, chemistry, and the derivates of it. This is all something I did very, very consciously, and you are encouraged to read the Building of All Things to glean more insight into how it is the Samsara canon is built.

To return to the actual subject matter, it helps to imagine the kin as constructs of liquid-filled marble, within which computers of spaghettified material have made their home. Existing as a replication of our own selves and processes, the kin occupy the strange ‘uncanny valley’ of strange familiarity that sees the kin being very easy to take as human at face value, but also distinctly not such. The workings of the straits - as depicted above - perhaps illustrates this best.
